Its a fun theory. Because it helps explain why the secret keepers are like, "Well yea i hid the truth in a democracy for 80 years but we are on a prison planet anyways and i protected you from knowing it." (hivelink)
I can totally see a group of humans starting 1000 years ago banding together in a secret society and mix of religions and corporations to hide a secret like that with that protector of the people justification.
